A Thousand City Plateaus (Urban Connective Topology)
We propose to constitute a urban plateaus that acts as a new container for the culture and everyday events. If new city plateaus for the city is creating urban platform out of penetrations pathways and plazas, making the new 'city plateaus' is as same as to conduct an enormous mapping operation with penetrating new programs, new landscape and main stadium in Jamsil.
Urban Connective Topology
The existing block of the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul has been become an isolated island because of disconnection between the Han River and the Coex area as well as its deterioration. Our proposal is for the reconstruction of urban topology strongly connecting the Coex Samsung station area, the Tan Stream, the Han River waterfront park and the Jamsil Sports Complex. Through a continuous and horizontal plateaus, we propose the continuum of compound spaces with diverse programs including sports, culture, convention and entertainment spaces. It will represent the horizontal mat with diverse programs covering from the Samsung Coex area to the Han River waterfront.

Beurteilung durch das Preisgericht
The project proposes a unique mega-structure platform as site connection and movement instead of underground construction of the Olympic Road. Although it has some limitations to be realized under the Korean laws, its strong design combined with architecture, structure, and landscape architecture creates clear identity to site/district/city and shows futuristic haunting and poetic vision for Seoul in the 21st Century.
