The Bivacco Fanton is positioned in this extreme environment, without mediation: it’s a measured architecture immersed in a boundless space at 2667 meters above sea level.

Projektbeschreibung
©Iwan Baan
The Bivacco Fanton experiences a continuous contrast between suspension from the mountain and physical anchoring to it.
©Iwan Baan
Externally, it appears as a rough-hewn volume suspended on a bristling cliff, a waiting body stretched out into the void.
©Iwan Baan
Emotionally opposing instances emerge: the desire to explore and the need to protect oneself and take refuge.
©Iwan Baan
A volume defined by nature, an architecture characterized by a strongly inclined profile that adapts itself to the orography of the Marmarole.
©Iwan Baan
The structure finds its balance by leaning on the ground, in a balance that is both firm and perceptively precarious at the same time.
©Iwan Baan
The orography offers a unique opportunity to amplify the space, to read and immerse yourself in a deep alpine dimension.
©Iwan Baan
The section maintains its strong value in the internal space, becoming its generating element.
©Iwan Baan
The internal space is developed upwards generating an axis that connects the site and the Auronzo valley.
©Iwan Baan
The Bivouac reaches an unstable equilibrium, which is substantiated in the internal space of the project: a wooden belly that softens the impact of wild nature.
